FRANK'S STORY

Frank's Story of Escape from Darkness -
00:00 / 00:00

PLEASE NOTE:

The accounts described in my story occurred during my early teens and into my early 20s. I am very glad to say that relationship situations within my family have greately changed during the ensuing years. My parents are still together, and the bond between parents and son has continually grown.

The relationships with my sister and brother have also been transformed. During my teen years, I was much the cause of the strife that occurred between my sister and myself. She is someone I love dearly. As for my brother, he is a man for whom I have great respect. Love you, brother!

I have so many reasons to be proud of my family now. Thank you, God, for what you have done, and continue to do, in our lives!

ABOUT ME

    W. Franklin Lattimore is the author of the Otherealm Saga which debuted in 2014 with Deliver Us from Darkness. Books 2 (When Darkness Comes) & 3 (Behind the Darkness) are complete and going through final edits. The fourth book,  That Dark Place, is currently a work in progress. His former involvement in the occult as a teenager was the springboard for writing the Otherealm Saga. Now a committed Christian, his books are written as a wake-up call to those dabbling in, curious about, and heavily active in witchcraft and other "spiritual" activities. His books are also designed to educate Christians on their position and authority in Christ and their responsibility to make Jesus known to their communities, while possibly taking some risks to do so.

Frank is a graduate of Kent State University, with a B.A. in Political Science. In addition to his formal education, Apologetics (the study of the evidences supporting the Christian faith) and Creation Science are favorite areas of study. He's active in his “Rockin” church and in his free time enjoys hiking, biking, ziplining, fishing, riding roller coasters, target shooting, and eating crispy BBQ wings.

_________________________

Since I was about 14 years old, I've dreamed of writing something important. I started out writing my first screenplay at that age with grand dreams! The name of the movie was to be “Space Lords” and I've still got that original script (somewhere)! Out of that came the beginnings of a novel by the same title, but ultimately, nothing came of either.

I began writing a few other books in the years following, but never got very far into them. I had what I thought were (and still think are) some good ideas, but I could not find the impetus to push through to the end.

In 2003 I was asked to be part of a rewrite committee for an annual local stage production called “The Promise.” It was an honor to be part of that collective of great minds, even if I didn't feel as though I qualified. As it turned out, some ideas that I had begun to flesh out for the stage play were taking root in my heart, and ultimately I was asked to take charge of the writing and run with my ideas. The end result was "The Master Plan" which I was also blessed to direct in 2004, with a stage cast and crew of close to 75 people!

That is when I got the writing bug again. I started writing a lot of stage sketches and some film shorts. I loved it! But I felt that there was still something much bigger inside of me; another story to be written that would one day be published in book form.

In late 2006 I began writing Otherealm. It was to be a novel in three parts. It was a project of much love, passion, and frustration. Starting and stopping over and over really caused me to wonder if I'd ever get it done and if I really had a talent for writing at all!

In 2010 I began putting some attention to it again, and in 2011 I got a “fire in my belly” and finally got it done. 2011 also saw the completion of a second novel!

In August 2011, based on the suggestion of my friend, Author Robert Liparulo, I broke my novel of three parts into two separate books, resulting in Deliver Us from Darkness and When Darkness Comes, the first two books of the Otherealm Saga.

In September of 2011 I submitted my first two manuscripts to a potential agent and received my first official rejection, putting me in the ranks of some great company, since nearly every great writer of modern times has also suffered that first initial defeat.

In July of 2012 work began on novel #3, and by October 2012 I was about half-way finished. Thanksgiving Day of 2012 saw the completion of Behind the Darkness!

My hope is to find that the majority of my readers will fall in love with the stories and characters that I have crafted, as much as I have!
